Two more podiums for Travis Wyman in MotoAmerica Stock 1000 season closer

Bilmola USA’s Travis Wyman ended the five-round MotoAmerica Stock 1000 season on a high, with two sensational second place finishes at the spectacular Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

The New Yorker came out swinging on Friday to finish top of the 40-bike field in Free Practice and Qualifying 1. On Saturday morning, he was edged into the second grid slot, and looking good with yet another front row start.

With air and track temperatures soaring in the early afternoon for Race 1, Travis got a clean, aggressive getaway for the long run down to the tight left at Turn 1. He came out second, hustling for the lead and opening an early gap on the battle for third. It stayed that way until front tire wear forced him to back off in the second half of the race. Despite the grip issue, Travis crossed the line second, with a four second margin back to third.

Race 2 on Sunday got underway in similarly steamy conditions. This time, thanks in part to set-up changes, the Las Vegas based racer was able to lead a tense two-way contest at the front through the early laps. With tire wear no longer an undue disadvantage, the battle for the win went to the flag. Travis took another second place after being narrowly outpaced at the end.

With six podiums, including one win, contributing to a points tally of 158, Travis finished the closely fought five-round Stock 1000 championship third. In this, his second season for Bilmola USA, he has done us proud again. The commitment, courage and sheer speed of this rider reflect perfectly our race-bred culture. We congratulate everyone at Travis Wyman Racing for their achievements and for giving the Bilmola family another thrilling ride in this part of our 2023 MotoAmerica campaign.
