Travis Wyman scored his third successive MotoAmerica podium finish for Bilmola USA by taking third place at Brainerd, Minnesota in the Steel Commander Stock 1000 class. With dry weather prevailing after a rainy day one, Travis set himself up for the race by qualifying fifth. He held his grid position from the start, as the front five got away from the rest of the 23-bike field and
piled pressure onto the riders ahead of him.
His BMW S1000RR was especially fast in Brainerd’s more technical third and fourth sectors, and it was into turn 11 on lap 5 that he made it through to fourth. As we’ve seen many times before with Travis Wyman, it was in the second half of the race where he really stamped his authority. As tires began to degrade, the New Yorker got faster and, on lap eight out of twelve he moved into third. He immediately turned up the heat, recording his fastest lap of the race and setting the scene for a nail-biting fight for second. On the last lap, Bilmola’s man got good drive out of the thirteenth and final turn and took third, missing out on second by less than one hundredth of a second.
Next up is Pittsburgh on August 18-20. Travis Wyman and Bilmola USA were on the podium there in 2022 and we can’t wait to do it again this time around!
