Travis Wyman proved just what a powerful competitor he is in Round 4 of MotoAmerica Superbikes at Virginia Raceway this past weekend. After technical problems cut his time short on his Tytler's Cycle Racing BMW during Friday practice and qualifying, he roared back on Saturday to earn a start from fourth place on the grid, which converted to P3 by the end of the dramatic race.

Showing us once again that he knows how to get a good start from the front end of a 40-bike grid, Travis muscled his way into third as the leaders rounded Turn 1 for the first time. By lap two, the leading four bikes were breaking away when an error further down the field caused a huge crash, bringing out the red flag. The restarted race, which was shortened from 14 to 9 laps, saw Travis get held up in fifth place on the narrow, twisty track during the first few laps. He pulled off a tricky pass into third at half distance and immediately began closing on the rider in second. Despite putting on a spectacular show in the final laps, the condition of Travis’s tires didn’t let him get through, so he settled in third place with 16 valuable championship points.
With another race and podium win for Travis Wyman and Bilmola USA on the books, stay tuned for the next round in just two weeks at Road America.
